Track Geometry Inspection Report (TGIR)

During an ATIP survey, the Track Geometry Measurement System (TGMS) onboard the Track Geometry cars collects data and generates a Track Geometry Inspection Report (TGIR) electronically for printing in near real-time onboard the cars. The TGIR is then distributed to the appropriate railroad, FRA Inspector and FRA Washington Headquarters.
